What a ballgame…Colquitt County at South Forsyth.

Last Friday, I was lucky enough to call one of the best games I have seen in quite a while. Colquitt County at South Forsyth in the 6A State Quarterfinals here in the state of Georgia.

Colquitt County is looking for it’s second consecutive state title and undefeated season. That would be a feat only two have accomplished before. They also have a chance at a national title and took a 27-game winning streak into the contest. Finally, they looked to extend their own record of consecutive semifinal appearances by reaching number seven in a row.

For South Forsyth it has been a dream season. In 2015, they have enjoyed their second 10-win season and second quarterfinal appearance. They claimed a region title and feature an emerging quarterback who combined for 2,700-yards in total offense. And the magic continued when South won a coin-toss allowing them to host this matchup.

This was an amazing, dramatic contest on both sides where either team could have pulled away…until experience finally trumped the upset bid.

It turned into one of the games of the year.

Below, you will find links to highlights and brief descriptions to lead you through how the game unfolded.
