  1. Calhoun 8-0 (Defeated Murray Co 70-13) The Jackets amassed 667 yards of total offense.
  2. Jefferson 8-0 (Idle)
  3. Blessed Trinity 8-0 (Defeated Washington 49-0) Milton Shelton scores four times on 12 carries.
  4. Cedar Grove 7-0 (Defeated North Clayton 35-8) The Saints win their sub-region title. Now the match is set, they get Blessed Trinity on the last Friday for the region title.
  5. Elbert County 7-1 (Defeated Morgan County 28-7) Their defense forces five turnovers and virtually clinches the number two seed from the region.
  6. Central, Carrollton 8-0 (Defeated Cedartown 27-22) This was closer than it should have been.
  7. Callaway 7-1 (Defeated Pepperell 35-14) We knew Cedric Maynard was going to be good; but did we know he would lead the state in rushing?
  8. Dodge County 8-0 (Defeated Cook 21-14) Another close game where an undefeated team survives. We could end up with five unbeaten in the class.

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
