With the incredible depth in each classification, this felt like a great time to bring back the old MP and expand to a Top 15. Plus, our customary five honorable mention. So, basically a Top 20…
- Colquitt County 7-0 (Defeated Lee County 54-17) Great job holding Morrell and Company to only 17-points.
- Grayson 7-0 (Defeated Shiloh 66-3) The Rams might actually have separated from the three teams below.
- Roswell 6-0 (Defeated Wheeler 45-7) Or perhaps, the Hornets are even with Grayson.
- Archer 5-1 (Defeated South Gwinnett 38-3) Are the Tigers all the way back?
- Mill Creek 7-0 (Defeated Mountain View 42-0) The Hawks defense places them above McEachern.
- McEachern 5-1 (Defeated North Cobb 35-0) This win basically clinched a region championship.
- Camden County 7-0 (Defeated Lowndes 38-19) Perhaps the best run game in 6A.
- Norcross 7-0 (Defeated Meadowcreek 48-16) Perhaps the best defense in 6A.
- Peachtree Ridge 5-2 (Defeated North Gwinnett 42-6) The defense is becoming lock down like expected; but a quarterback change is the key.
- Lee County 6-1 (Lost to Colquitt Co 54-17) This was a great chance to prove themselves. The offensive letdown is surprising.
- Walton 6-1 (Defeated Pope 49-10) The Raiders still have a shot at the region title. Barely.
- Valdosta 5-2 (Defeated Tift County 26-23) The Cats are on pace to be the best team in the state to NOT make the playoffs.
- Newton 6-1 (Defeated Alcovy 47-0) The MP pats itself on the back for sticking with its pick of the Rams to win the region. And there were MANY doubters.
- Etowah 6-1 (Defeated Milton 38-20) The Eagles may start the playoffs on the road; and they’ll be dangerous.
- South Forsyth 6-0 (Defeated Northview 41-7) Another pick the MP is proud of. SF is two wins from a region title.
HM: Tift County 5-2, Lowndes 4-3, Lambert 5-1, Dacula 4-2, Hillgrove 4-3
