4A…A lot of movement this week: Thomson and Bainbridge are in, Sandy Creek moves up, while Burke County and Jonesboro are out…

  1. Cartersville 3-0 (Defeated North Paulding 45-7) Trevor Lawrence, as a sophomore, is one of the five best quarterbacks in the state.
  2. Woodward Academy 3-0 (Defeated Lovett 37-7) Elijah Holyfield does it again: 18 carries/ 173 yards/ two touchdowns.
  3. Buford 2-1 (Idle)
  4. Mary Persons 3-0 (Defeated Lamar County 20-7) I must admit, I expected a larger margin of victory.
  5. Marist 2-1 (Defeated Arabia Mountain 41-14) One thing Arabia Mountain can do is be physical; yet, Marist ran for over 300 yards.
  6. Sandy Creek 3-1 (Defeated Newnan 34-0) Ha! So two major polls across the state do not have SC in their top ten?
  7. Thomson 3-0 (Defeated Hart County 49-14) Not saying their back, but they are better than in recent years.
  8. West Laurens 3-1 (Lost to Westside, Macon 27-24) No shame in losing to a Top Ten, potential region champion, and certain playoff team.
  9. St Pius 1-2 (Defeated Lithonia 42-12) We had HC Paul Standard on the broadcast Friday night. He likes the direction this team is headed.
  10. Bainbridge 3-0 (Defeated Monroe 34-7) Finally, after weeks of other outlets including them in the rankings, the Bearcats enter The MP.

Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
