The Mooneyham Poll never jokes on 9/11…1A Private GHSA football rankings…

1A Private…Alright, we here at The MP tried it. We tried to put 1A Public and 1A Private into one poll. You didn’t like it and neither did we. So, it’s back: the only state wide ranking to separate 1A Private and 1A Public into separate polls.

  1. Mt Paran 3-0 (Defeated North Clayton 42-18) Count me as wrong. I thought the Eagles had been hit too hard by graduation.
  2. Prince Avenue 2-0 (Defeated Oglethorpe Co 48-12)
  3. Eagles Landing Christian 1-2 (Lost to GACS 33-3) Not a fair representation of ELCA in this one. The Chargers were without four of their top seven players due to injury.
  4. Landmark Christian 2-1 (Lost to Pace Academy 38-30) No shame in a loss to a 2A state title contender. Plus, apparently they were without Lofton Tidwell for most of the game.
  5. Calvary Day 2-0 (Defeated Bradwell Institute 13-6)
  6. Aquinas 1-1 (Idle)
  7. Savannah Christian 1-1 (Idle)
  8. Pacelli 2-0 (Defeated Seminole Co 28-20) The Vikings should run out to 4-0; then they have Dooly Co and Marion Co back-to-back.
  9. Tattnall Square 2-0 (Defeated Warren Co 14-0) The Trojans have a shot to run the table.
  10. Pinecrest 1-0 (Idle) The Paladins play a sneaky little tough schedule.

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
