1A Public…Alright, we here at The MP tried it. We tried to put 1A Public and 1A Private into one poll. You didn’t like it and neither did we. So, it’s back: the only state wide ranking to separate 1A Private and 1A Public into separate polls.

  1. Marion County 1-0 (Idle) The Eagles get a wounded and embarrassed Dooly County this week.
  2. Commerce 2-0 (Defeated Hebron Christian 35-0) Now, for the Tigers, comes the game that means the most to them, the rivalry matchup with Jefferson.
  3. Charlton County 1-0 (Weather Cancellation versus Sante Fe Florida)
  4. Clinch County 2-0 (Idle)
  5. Hawkinsville 1-1 (Defeated Wilcox Co 16-0) The Red Devils just seem to be a bit off early in 2015.
  6. Irwin County 1-1-1 (Lost to Fitzgerald 35-14) DJ Pollard goes off against a 2A state title contender: 20 carries/ 180 yards/ 12 Tackles
  7. Mt Zion, Carroll 2-1 (Defeated Haralson Co 21-0) A sleeper team for a playoff win.
  8. Emanuel County Institute 1-1 (Defeated Metter 41-10)
  9. Trion 2-0 (Idle)
  10. Turner County 2-0 (Defeated Dooly Co 50-6) Perhaps, the surprise score across the state.

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
