6A…This week: Archer at Grayson, McEachern at Peachtree Ridge, Newton at Westlake, and Walton at Etowah

  1. Colquitt County 3-0 (Defeated Crisp County 37-7) In one of the many games marred by weather delay, the Pack kept the championship composure and rolled.
  2. Archer 2-0 (Idle)
  3. McEachern (Defeated Buford 37-14) This win nearly pushed them into the #2 slot.
  4. Grayson 2-0 (Defeated L Hughes 56-21) The Rams rack up 553 total yards and we’re introduced to Ernest Tiller, who rushed for 231 yards.
  5. Roswell 2-0 (Idle) Next up: a Lassiter team that is better this year and coming off a loss.
  6. Etowah 3-0 (Defeated Cherokee 36-21) Ty Devezin goes for 243 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.
  7. Newton 3-0 (Defeated Rome 35-33) Romario Johnson hits Jeremiah Holloman on a 77-yard scoring strike with less than a minute remaining.
  8. Mill Creek 3-0 (Defeated Dacula 34-7) This was a close game throughout, but the Hawks scored 17 unanswered in the fourth quarter.
  9. Lee County 3-0 (Defeated Worth County 42-23) Garet Morrell hit a 62-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage.
  10. Norcross 3-0 (Defeated Milton 14-3) Baron Radcliff is proving to be one of the better running QB’s in 6A. Vs Milton: 15 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
