1A…The most difficult 1A rankings to figure out in MP history. Like 2A, the “Honorable Mention” is loaded…

  1. Marion County 1-0 (Defeated Miller County 40-6)
  2. ELCA 1-1 (Lost to Stockbridge 28-21) The Chargers must take pride in a rally after trailing 28-7. Stockbridge is a championship caliber 5A team.
  3. Landmark Christian 2-0 (Defeated Lithia Springs 45-20) RB Lofton Tidwell, who is a beast to bring down, carries for over 250 yards.
  4. Mt Paran 2-0 (Defeated Whitefield Academy 35-0) Senior Taylor Trammell, who is now their “go-to-guy”, goes for 20 carries/ 175 yards/ 3 Td’s. Oh, and a touchdown reception.
  5. Charlton County 1-0 (Defeated Manchester 33-7) CC rushes for 326 yards against a 2A school.
  6. Clinch County 2-0 (Defeated Brooks County 33-20) This is a great win over a pre-season 2A favorite.
  7. Commerce 1-0 (Defeated Banks County 55-13) Still underrated!! Fine, the MP will drive the band wagon.
  8. Prince Avenue 1-0 (Defeated Aquinas 42-12) The Wolverines provide the surprise score of the week.
  9. Hawkinsville 0-1 (Lost to Bleckley County 13-0) What in the…what…I don’t…huh?
  10. TIE: Calvary Day 1-0 (Idle)…Aquinas 1-1 (Lost to Prince Avenue 42-12) What in the…what…I don’t…huh?

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
