6A…The first weekend of the season created chaos in my 6A rankings; numbers 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 all lost…
- Archer 1-0 (Defeated North Paulding 49-21)…Dominating victory serves notice to the rest of 6A.
- Colquitt County 1-0 (Defeated North Gwinnett 45-14) The Pack’s all-time leading receiver Kiel Pollard (seven rec/ 124 yards/ Td) could not be stopped.
- McEachern 1-0 (Defeated Tucker 50-14) RB Sam Jackson goes for 161 yards and three scores; on only nine carries.
- Grayson (Idle)…The Rams open with a tough slate: Gainesville, Hughes, and Archer.
- Roswell 1-0 (Defeated Lowndes 35-8)…This game was like a dream for the Hornets. All of their stars made big plays.
- Newton 1-0 (Defeated Berkmar 46-12)…QB Romario Johnson goes 8-for-8 for 134 yards and three touchdowns; and the Rams led 43-0 at the half.
- Lee County 1-0 (Defeated Westover 42-7) Lee’s offense struggles early.
- Etowah 1-0 (Defeated Marietta 54-21) The Eagles led 28-0 after one quarter.
- Norcross 1-0 (Defeated Valdosta 34-31) Sloppy game between two really even teams
- Peachtree Ridge 0-1 (Lost to Christ Presbyterian, Nashville 35-21) Losing this game is not so shocking; but their performance was a little disappointing.
HM: Mill Creek 1-0, Westlake, Lovejoy, Hillgrove 0-1, North Gwinnett 0-1, Tucker 0-1, Valdosta 0-1, Hughes 0-1
