Now that the album is finished and the Cristal is all drank up, The Mooneyham Poll has returned.

Here is the schedule leading up to kick off on Friday, August 21st:

Today: The Mooneyham Poll…GHSA 6A Football

Thursday 20th: The Top 15 games of the 2015 GHSA football season

Friday 21st: Lineup for kick off. We preview our first 680 The Fan Friday Night Football Game of the Week.

6A…The first, and last, MP every year provides us the Top 15 teams in each class…

  1. Archer…Even with Gabe Tiller and Randy Nails gone, the Tigers have the inside track to the title.
  2. Colquitt County…Despite losing a ton of talent, they actually will be better than some think.
  3. McEachern…Maybe the best offense in the state; and the defense will be better than last year.
  4. Grayson…It seems like Mickey Conn is going to let Chase Brice open up the offense.
  5. Peachtree Ridge…Perhaps the best secondary in the state.
  6. Roswell…The Hornets are going to win their region championship.
  7. Hillgrove…Like Roswell, the Hawks are a sleeper to make a final four appearance.
  8. Tucker…The Tigers return their entire offensive line, but lost their top three offensive weapons.
  9. Newton…2015 could be the greatest year in team history.
  10. Lowndes…Bounce back year where playoff seeding will come down to Valdosta game.
  11. Valdosta…Seth Shuman, it’s all on you now.
  12. Westlake…Even though Nigel Warrior transferred, their defense is one of the best in 6A.
  13. Hughes…Even though D’Andre Walker graduated, their defense is one of the best in 6A.
  14. Norcross…The Blue Devils return a heap of seniors and a top level defense.
  15. Lee County…Depth questions will be the storyline in 2015.

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
