After touring America in search of the finest porcelain “piggies”, The Mooneyham Poll has returned.

Here is our schedule leading all the way up to kick off on Friday, August 21st:

Thursday 20th: The Top 15 games of the 2015 GHSA football season

Friday 21st: Lineup for kick off. We preview our first 680 The Fan Friday Night Football Game of the Week, River Ridge at Woodstock.

4A…The first, and last, MP every year provides us the Top 15 teams in each class…

  1. Buford…”The Machine” is about to threaten their own record for longest winning streak in state history.
  2. Cartersville…With Trevor Lawrence at QB, this could be their year.
  3. Woodward Academy…Elijah Holyfield. Go find a highlight tape online. Seriously.
  4. Sandy Creek…Somehow Chip Walker will win 10 games.
  5. Marist…The best system, from youth to senior year, in the state.
  6. St Pius X…Reached the title game twice in three years; and a lot of that talent is gone.
  7. Mary Persons…Defense. That is all.
  8. Cairo…Steve DeVoursney, formerly of Griffin, is the new head man.
  9. Griffin…The Bears lost more talent than anyone in 4A; but it is Griffin.
  10. Burke County…The Bears are a dark horse for deep playoff run.
  11. Whitewater…After all of the talent they have lost the last few years, it’s hard to get a read on the Wildcats.
  12. Carrollton…Very important year for Ed Dudley.
  13. Jonesboro…The Cards go as far as QB Zerrick Cooper takes them.
  14. West Laurens…2014 featured the most wins in a season in Dexter since 1994.
  15. Thomas County Central…The Jackets haven’t won double-digits since 2009.

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
