After spending time as a zombie on the set of The Walking Dead, The Mooneyham Poll has returned.

Friday 21st: Lineup for kick off. We preview our first 680 The Fan Friday Night Football Game of the Week.

5A…The first, and last, MP every year provides us the Top 15 teams in each class…

  1. Houston County…Apparently, Nick Saban is all about QB Jake Fromm.
  2. Northside, Warner Robins…Eagles lose 2,000-yd man Willie Jordan.
  3. Ware County…Franklin Stephens enters second year at Ware. He took both Tucker and Lamar to title games in Year 2.
  4. Stockbridge…The Tigers may have the best defense in the class.
  5. Kell…The Longhorns have not lost to a region opponent since September of 2011.
  6. Allatoona…Senior running back Russell Holiman: 2,000-yard man.
  7. Lanier…After 10-0, they lost in the opening round last year. 2015 could be a mission year.
  8. Carver, Columbus…Senior QB Juwon Pass will finish with one of the most underrated careers in state history.
  9. Creekside…The Seminoles lost HC Olten Downs to UGA as a quality control assistant.
  10. Mays…Contrary to some reports you may read, the state runner-up lost all but one offensive starter from the state title game. I know, I broadcasted it.
  11. Glynn Academy…The Red Terrors trying for their greatest season since the state title in 1964.
  12. Jones County…QB Bradley Hunnicut will light up scoreboards in 2015.
  13. Clarke-Central…I think SR RB JaQua Daniels can lead the Gladiators to second in the region.
  14. Warner Robins…SR ATH Marquez Callaway will lead the Demons to third in the region.
  15. Stephenson…Jaguars faithful wonder if the window is closing.

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
