1. Buford 15-0 The Wolves are one of the top five programs in the HISTORY of GHSA football history. If not higher.
2. Cartersville 12-2 Trevor Lawrence: the number one player in the state for 2018.
3. St Pius 12-3 Great run with some of the most quality kids I have ever covered.
4. Sandy Creek 11-2 Another “rebuilding year” coming for 2015. So, they’ll win only 10 games.
5. Marist 11-2 Future HOF Head Coach Alan Chadwick has one of the best systems in the country.
6. Woodward Academy 11-3 The War Eagles Elijah Holyfield provided some of the top individual athletic efforts of the season.
7. Griffin 11-1 As good as they were; still, they never truly were as good as they could have been. Injuries, obviously, hurt.
8. Mary Persons 9-3 Underrated team that should be good again next year.
9. North Oconee 9-4 Goodbye, Kawon Bryant; and thanks for the highlights. 10.Cairo 9-3 Next year, with the talent they are losing, will be interesting.
11. Whitewater 7-4 Christian Wofford was one of the most underrated players in the state all year.
12. West Laurens 9-4 These guys were one of the top underrated TEAMS all season.
13. Baldwin 7-5 So much better than this record indicates. The QB transfer in summer REALLY hurt.
14. TCC 6-4 Defense kept them in playoff contention.
15. Pickens 8-3 Goodbye, Shannon. And thank you too.

When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).

    • Hey, John, great eye and thanks! That was a copy and paste error…honestly. I probably wouldn’t have noticed if you had not said something.
      The Titans played a tougher schedule and, obviously, they beat the Syrupmakers head-to-head. Cairo did have a really good defense this year, allowing 90 fewer points than NO. However, even with Bryant out for a bit, the Titans scored a hundred more points than Cairo; vs superior teams. Head-to-head was my tie-breaker. Damn Microsoft word.
