1. Greater Atlanta Christian 8-0 (Defeated Holy Innocents 38-0) Next: #3 Lovett.
2. Vidalia 8-0 (Defeated Bacon Co 56-27)
3. Lovett 7-2 (Defeated Wesleyan 30-24) Their matchup with #1 GAC this week is the biggest game in 2A; maybe in the entire state.
4. Fitzgerald 7-1 (Defeated Pelham 42-0) Star running QB Gerald Morgan finishes with four touchdown passes; on 9 for 9 passing.
5. Benedictine 6-2 (Defeated Groves 70-19) The Cadets led 63-0 at the half. Not a misprint, 63-0.
6. Thomasville 5-3 (Idle) “T’Ville” takes on Brooks County in a ballgame with MAJOR playoff implications.
7. Lamar County 6-1-1 (Defeated Putnam Co 53-14)
8. Screven County 8-0 (Idle) Next is Dublin. Even though the Irish are down, many are saying this is where Screven’s surprising season hits the wall.
9. Darlington 7-1 (Defeated Armuchee 40-6)
10. Macon County 6-2 (Defeated Northeast 37-0) Another forgotten team that has stayed together and figured things out.

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
