1A Public…There are no less than ten matchups that are worth watching involving ranked teams in both 1A Private and Public.

1. Marion County 4-0 (Defeated Schley Co 34-13) Schley was the first of four tough tests versus teams that have all been ranked at some point: Pacelli, Brookstone, and Hawkinsville are next.
2. Charlton County 5-0 (Defeated Turner Co 48-16) *The Indians take on #6 Irwin Co next…
3. Hawkinsville 5-0 (Defeated Central, Talbotton 36-8) The Red Devils play all playoff contenders the rest of the way: Greenville, Dooly Co, Marion Co, Schley Co, and Pacelli.
4. Dooly County 4-1 (Defeated Pacelli 28-21) Nice win in a back and forth ballgame. Survived via a Pacelli turnover, inside the Dooly red zone, in the final minute.
5. Commerce 4-1 (defeated Athens Christian 10-7) If they are as good as many think, this contest was too close. A superior schedule puts them above Irwin in my book. Barely.
6. Irwin County 3-1-1 (Defeated Telfair Co 48-21) *….Last year, Irwin and Charlton played two great ballgames; including Charlton’s 34-33 state semifinal win.
7. Greenville 3-1 (Defeated Brookstone 32-21) Some will view this as an overrating and I admit that could be true. Check out their schedule; they’ll have their chance to prove it.
8. Claxton 3-1 (Defeated Treutlen 35-21) Claxton beat #9 ECI, tiebreaker for #8.
9. ECI 4-1 (Defeated Savannah Country Day 54-13)
10. Trion 4-1 (Defeated King’s Ridge 39-23)
