The Mooneyham Poll…knew that Oregon was going down…GHSA football, 2A…

2A…Perhaps this class is settling into it’s rightful form. At least until some huge games in the last two weeks.

1. Greater Atlanta Christian 5-0 (Defeated BEST Academy 58-28)
2. Fitzgerald 5-0 (Defeated Early Co 34-20) The Hurricanes have Thomasville and Brooks Co next; should be wins, but you can’t assume.
3. Vidalia 5-0 (Defeated Groves 38-0) The Indians defense has allowed only 23 total points and shutout their last three opponents.
4. Benedictine 3-1 (Defeated Bryan Co 56-6)
5. Lovett 4-2 (Defeated KIPP 42-6) Three consecutive wins should lead to five straight; then they close with Wesleyan and GACS.
6. Lamar County 3-1-1 (Defeated Alcovy 45-0) They just beat a 6A team 45-0. I don’t care if it was only Alcovy; 45 points.
7. Brooks County 3-2 (Defeated Pelham 20-0) The word out of Quitman is that guys are finally starting to settle into their new roles and extended playing time.
8. Washington-Wilkes 3-1 (Idle)
9. Darlington 4-1 (Defeated Gordon Lee 25-14) The Tigers take on Region 7 foe #10 Model this week…
10. Model 5-0 (Defeated Dade Co 24-0)…the winner will most likely go on to win the region title.
HM: Screven County 5-0 (Defeated Jefferson Co 12-7), Wesleyan 4-1 (Defeated Pace Academy 23-17 OT), Macon Co 3-2 (Defeated Heard Co 24-10), BEST Academy 2-3 (Lost to GACS 58-28), Dublin 3-2 (Defeated Metter 21-7), Rabun Co 3-2 (Idle)

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
