4A…Kind of a quiet week in the classification

1. Buford 4-0 (Idle) The Wolves first road game of 2014 comes this week at Chestatee; and it should be another 40-point win.
2. Sandy Creek 5-0 (Defeated Auburn, AL 24-17) **Region 5: The Patriots are off this week; before a run of #6 Whitewater, Troup, #5 Woodward and Carrollton consecutively.
3. Marist 5-0 (Defeated Redan 60-0) The War Eagles have outscored their opponents 190-21 this year.
4. Griffin 5-0 (Defeated Jonesboro 27-6)
5. Woodward Academy 4-1 (Defeated Eagle’s Landing Christian 27-7) **Region 5: the War Eagles close w/ #2 Sandy Creek, #6 Whitewater and Carrollton.
6. Whitewater 3-1 (Idle) **Region 5: the best in 4A. The Wildcats schedule of big teams is more spread out.
7. Cartersville 3-1 (Defeated Gilmer 52-27)
8. Cairo 4-1 (Defeated Worth Co 29-6) The Syrupmakers get an off week before region play.
9. Thomas County Central 3-1 (Defeated Americus-Sumter 33-12)
10. Mary Persons 4-1 (Defeated Perry 31-0) RB Dee High is joining a long line of fine Bulldog RB’s. He notched 180 vs Perry.

HM: St Pius 2-2 (Defeated 31-28), Columbia 4-1 (Defeated Lithonia 41-7), Pickens 3-1 (Lost to Ridgeland 35-28), Eagles Landing 4-1 (Lost to Eastside, Covington 49-21), Upson-Lee 4-0 (Defeated Baldwin 14-12), Troup Co 3-2 (Defeated Callaway 37-27)

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
