5A…#1 Northside, WR loses in the regular season for only the EIGTH time since 1997

1. Ware County 4-0 (Defeated Richmond Hill 28-0) I know they’re good; I still have questions though. 
2. Creekside 4-1 (Defeated Stephenson 28-14) Great victory where they trailed 14-7 at one point. If they, and Ware win out, the Seminoles will pass them for the top spot.
3. Kell 4-0 (Defeated Forsyth Central 28-14) The Longhorns better not sleep on their next opponents, Cambridge.
4. Allatoona 4-0 (Idle) Even this early, if they beat S Paulding this week, they seize control of the region. Oh, and Bettistea is back.
5. Northside, Warner Robins 3-1 (Lost to Jones County 45-37) Their first region loss to someone other than Warner Robins or Lowndes since 2002
6. Coffee 3-1 (Defeated Glynn Academy 28-7)
7. Lanier 4-0 (Defeated Cedar Shoals 21-7) Their resume is more impressive than you may realize.
8. Carver, Columbus 3-1 (Defeated Troup 43-41) Junior dual-threat QB Jawon Pass finished the game 13-of-14 through the air for 208 yards and two touchdowns.
9. Stephenson 2-2 (Lost to Creekside 28-14) They easily could have won this game.
10. Houston County 4-0 (Defeated Warner Robins 62-30) I was paying close attention this week, realizing they were poll worthy. 62 points on WR? Wow.

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
