The Mooneyham Poll…Thanks Frank Wren…GHSA 6A classification…

6A…It is surprising that six different regions are represented in the top 10.

1. Colquitt County 5-0 (Defeated Pelham 47-7) In two weeks: Lowndes.
2. Camden County 5-0 (Defeated Wayne County 24-7) In two weeks: Valdosta.
3. Grayson 4-0 (Defeated Parkview 13-7) *Mooney pats himself on the back for seeing this coming two months ago* Don’t mind if I do.
4. North Gwinnett 3-1 (Defeated Collins Hill 42-24) Trailed 21-0 at one point.
5. Valdosta 5-0 (Defeated Veterans 34-0) They have outscored their opponents 124-10, with four shutouts.
6. Lowndes 5-0 (Defeated Newton 17-13) They are sixth this week because NG and Valdosta have slightly better opponents.
7. Langston Hughes 2-1 (Idle)
8. McEachern 2-2 (Defeated Lovejoy 7-3) Physical teams, that will punch the Indians in the mouth, will fare well against them. Like Lovejoy.
9. Lovejoy 3-1 (Lost to McEachern 7-3) Look, they outplayed McEachern. Too many penalties and two missed field goal opportunities.
10. North Cobb 3-1 (Idle) Holy smokes…Warriors next three games: at Hillgrove, host McEachern, at Marietta.  
HM: Tucker 2-2 (Idle), Dacula 4-0 (Defeated South Gwinnett 27-13), Milton 2-1 (Lost to Roswell 33-31), Mill Creek 2-2 (Defeated Duluth 42-0), East Coweta 3-0 (Idle), Norcross 3-1 (Defeated Mtn View 19-7), Tift County 5-0 (Defeated Alcovy 42-7) I cannot wait to see John Reid’s team versus the big boys of Region 1.

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
