2A…Region 6, the deepest in the class, begins play this week: #1 GACS, #5 Lovett, #9 BEST, Wesleyan, Hapeville, Holy Innocents, Pace…

1. Greater Atlanta Christian 3-0 (Idle) Next is Hapeville Charter. They have an All-State DE in Arden Key. Will they run at him?
2. Fitzgerald 3-0 (Idle)
3. Benedictine 1-1 (Defeated Liberty Co 44-13)
4. Vidalia 3-0 (Idle)
5. Lovett 2-2 (Defeated Woodward Academy 21-20) They’re just not as deep as the last two years; still very good.
6. Dublin 2-1 (Defeated Twiggs County 55-18)
7. Macon Co 2-1 (Defeated Perry 35-6) Only one poll in the state gave these guys a vote? One? They get a chance to prove themselves the next 2 weeks: Fitzgerald and Heard Co.
8. Washington-Wilkes 2-1 (Lost to Jefferson Co 14-7) This loss concerns me; and will fuel the naysayers.
9. BEST Academy 2-1 (Defeated Therrell 15-6) And now it begins. Go check out their region schedule, Lovett and GACS are first.
10. Brooks Co 1-2 (Lost to Madison Co, FL 29-22)

Chris Mooneyham is a twenty-year broadcast veteran employed or freelancing for multiple companies across America. Currently he is a co-host, play-by-play person and guest anchor for Atlanta’s sports leader, The Fan 680AM/ 93.7FM; and its sister stations on The Sports X. In the Fall, Chris serves as the Sideline Reporter for Kennesaw State University football. He also works as studio host, play-by-play announcer and content producer for The Fan’s coverage of Georgia High School football. Come the Wintertime, the focus shifts to the National Lacrosse League 2017 World Champions, the Georgia Swarm (play-by-play). When Spring rolls around, the Atlanta native delivers the play-by-play for the Emory University baseball team, a two-time national finalist. All throughout the year, Mooneyham is a lead play-by-play person for the NFHS Network’s high school sports coverage and over the last decade was honored to call state championships in nearly every sport. A Kennesaw State graduate, Chris holds a Communication degree in Media Studies and a Minor degree in Film Studies. He is also a two-time graduate of broadcasting school (Connecticut School of Broadcasting-1998/ Atlanta Broadcast Institute-2008).
