…Tucker @ MLK. Both teams got off to surprising 0-2 starts.
Tucker blew off some steam last week by routing Stone Mountain 77-0. Expect the Tigers to still end up in the Top 10 range. They have a bevy of high level talent. Duke Shelly is one of the best 2-way stars in the country. Make that 4-way players. In 2013, he scored 12 total touchdowns: 2 Receiving, 2 rushing, 3 interceptions, 4 kickoff returns, and a punt return as well. Elijah Sullivan, an Auburn commit, is a player with pure power. On one drive he will power into the end zone from one yard out and on the following drive he will come up with crushing hits from his LB position.
The Lions have yet to win, or score. So far, they have been outscored 64-0. We all knew coming into 2014 that this MLK team was not nearly as deep or as star-powered as usual. Still, to lose 30-0 and 34-0, is worrisome. And there are questions surfacing from the fan base.
The aforementioned Duke Shelly, a future Kansas State player, was the star of last years 60-34 Tucker victory. He totaled 219 yards, with touchdowns receiving (1), interception (1), and kickoff (2).
